BRB. I’m busy integrating all the parts of myself …

Prioritizing your quality of life is not selfish. It’s vital and it’s necessary. In fact… it’s healthy.

And perception of time is directly reflective of quality of life. ⏳

(Where’s all my “I have no time” folks? I’m talking to you here.)

If you’re not making yourself a priority at the end of the day, even subconsciously, you’re going to expect somebody else to do it for you.

Let me tell ya how that’s gonna end (speaking from my experience…)

Not well.

Triggering? As a recovering people-pleasing,” helper” archetype myself, I feel this one too.

I mean…how many of us have had terrible relationships, or jobs or made life choices that straight up did not advocate for us to live a healthy, loving, joyful life?

If you said “me”...Here’s another thought that might land hard too.

✨People pleasing, “having no time” and putting others before yourself, is actually an avoidance tactic to invalidate our own needs, wants and desires.✨

When we can shift the gaze to others, we feel needed, accepted or loved by an outside source FIRST before we can in fact do it for ourselves from within…and that sh*t is problematic.

Because then what happens? You give someone an inch you don’t have… they take a mile. (Bc they don’t know and it’s human nature.) Throw in lack of boundaries to that mix and homie… it’s about to get EXHAUSTING.

Andt here’s the thing… we’re smart and intuitive creatures- we actually know what we need. However, trauma, society and the external environment from adolescence to adulthood take all of that for a chaotic joy ride.

So here’s what I can offer you…

•Seeking outside validation or outside care when you aren’t able to provide it for yourself from within is not going to end well.

•Giving out care, when you aren’t caring for yourself is only going to be draining, not fulfilling.

•AND pouring from an empty cup doesn’t make you a selfless hero, it makes you an empty vessel. 🥣

Ouch. I know.

If you’re not gonna put yourself first, and fill that fucker to the BRIM, who the f is.

When you do this…watch your whole life level up and all the time that shows up for you. 💫

See you soon.
