Who is Emily Rose, and What is Thrive Embodied Arts all about?
It hasn’t happened in a while, but every now and then I have an interaction like this...
A woman or a stranger will ask me what I do. I’ve given this much consideration, living in a conservative area and wanting to accurately depict this sacred space of the studio, but generally I’ll reply “I own a pole dancing & sensual movement studio” and with a spark of both excitement and dismissal the person will answer “wow! I could never do that, I’m not (insert adjective) enough for that”. Sometimes is something more…crass depending on the audience.
This week, I’ve been trying to sit with why that hits my heart so deeply. Why is it that so many of us, women, question our ability to... be or do anything, cutting ourselves short before we even give it a chance? Where do these stories we carry of lack begin...more importantly, how can we rewrite them, consciously embodying a shift from scarcity to abundance and from shame to gratitude and joy.
Yesterday, a “Soulful Values” session with my business coach, @sixfigurepolestudio brought me the powerful clarity I’ve been searching for, to help me understand and step into the reason this life has gifted me the ability to share the transformative modalities of pole dance, sensual movement and art. It’s time to elevate my answer to this question.
So, who am I? What do I do?
I am a Creative Healer who uses movement arts to guide women back to their sacred sensuality, heal the parts of themselves they try to forget, awake to their full potential and live lives filled with gratitude and abundance.
We are rewriting our stories every day; unlearning traumas, untethering from toxic energies, re-designing our relationships with ourselves and with love....We are Healing. Our capacity to grow is endless. So what if we could truly embrace all that we are; both the light and the shadow. What magic thrives deep within us, when we accept and love every piece of ourselves for what they are, what they’ve been and what they can become? What wisdom, freedom, liberation and expression is to be found in our bodies when we use movement to come home to them?
If you’ve read this far, thank you. Here is my message for you:
You are Whole. You are Complete, You are Enough, exactly as you are.
Both I, Thrive Embodied Arts and Healing Art Society are ready for you, when you are.
