There’s something I hear often from people interested in our space… “But I can’t dance.”... or “I’m not sexy.”
OR my favorite, is the raised eyes that say it all… “I could never!”

Me, The Creatrix…
“There’s 2 types of (women) - those who are curious about the powerful choices they can make for themselves and what is available FOR them, and those that are dictated by the fear of the fact that they think they don’t have a choice at all.”

"I hate to free dance."
The critic, the planner, and the judge… No, these are not major arcana.
They are things that can show up unwelcomed and unannounced in your pole class.
I rarely talk about pole dance this way…

Things I wish I knew when I first started pole dancing
Read this is you’re over 30. (If you’re not still read it.)
When I first started pole dancing, 10 years ago… everything changed.
It did. That’s a fact.
Originally what kept me coming back was the physical challenge.

Movement is Medicine
“I’ve spent too long hiding pieces of who I really am. And it turns out, it didn’t serve me. And it didn’t serve those around me either. It just kept me from so much good I was blocking out and so much good within me that I didn’t let anyone see.”

Yes, we share here!
As I roll into my mid thirties in the next few months, I’m so thankful that I have found practices to allow me to soften, especially when life can be so… hard. And my body has changed with that; my skin, my ass, my neck and chin…And my nervous system too. 🙏🏻

Happy Birthday Thrive!
Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning, or you are brand new, maybe you’re still summoning the courage to walk through our door, or you've finally found yourself on that waitlist, today - I deeply honor and celebrate you.
When the studio was in its earliest stages- I’m talking pre-Covid- when I was a traveling artist popping into other spaces to cover a few week long residencies- I remember thinking a very strong thought (which may come as a shock to you).
“I never want to own a studio.”

The Power of Flow State
The term “flow state” describes a mental state in which a person is completely focused on a single task or activity. They are directing all of their attention, or energy, toward the task, and they do not experience many thoughts about themselves or their performance. It is a place where the subconcious is most permeable, as the ego melts away.
Flow state allows us to reprogram our subcontious because we completely lose our sense of self (i.e ego)
This is where the deepest healing takes place.

Lessons from our Wild Within Retreat in Sedona
Last week we were in Arizona (snow storm and all) for our 4th Wild Within Retreat. This trip was layered with lessons, luscious landscapes and so so much love. I took a lot home with me on this one, for sure more than I could fit in my carry on lol, but these are some of the intimate moments I wanted to share here with you.
#1. Trust is a felt sense and an embodiment of recalibration.
Trust is a full embodiment of all the work we have done up to the moment we experience the opportunity to not. I know that sounds wordy and confusing, but there will be so many things in this life that throw you off center and ask you to recalibrate.

Creation and Destruction go hand in hand.
We can’t control people or their behavior (no matter how much we try lol)... we know this. BUT we can take responsibility and accountability for our own; we can also be the co-creator in both.
And when we do that, we can decide how much personal emotional real estate someone else occupies. Hell, we might even be able to keep our ego in check.
Within that space, we can give ourself the permission to let it be messy, and experience whatever it is we need to experience, without labeling it, giving it expectations or shaming it too.
We can stop pressuring ourselves to show up perfect.
Trust Enough to Let. It. Go.
Why is it that we hold on to things, even when we can hardly bare the weight?
Is it because things are always heavier before you put them down?
We have to TRUST enough to let things go, and within that trust we find truth.
AND when we find the truth, when we start to really know ourself…
We can show up critical, or we can show up kind.
