Grief, Grounding & Gratitude- Breath Work & Sound Bath

  • Thrive Embodied Arts 180 Spring Street Newton, NJ, 07860 United States (map)

The spring beckons for new beginnings and illuminates the imprint of the winter slumber. We are in constant cycles of life and death - both physical and energetic, relational and personal. Not to mention, approaching the time in the year where newness kisses our skin, yet we may still be deep within our own grief processes. Sometimes "new" reminds us of what we have lost or what has massively shifted & changed, and what is no longer available to come with us where we are going.

This ceremonial space is here as an offering to honor, clear and cleanse. To sit with the natural cycles of life and death, to sit with the sensation of those we are missing...who, what and where, to ground into the gratitude we feel in our bones to know how lucky we are to still be here - feeling it all.

Anger, sadness, anticipation, honor...love.

A place to remedy the overwhelm or the numbness, or the pressure to "get over it."

We start with intentional breath work to drop us into a trance state, helping to scrub and surface the gunk, and then I will lead us through some movement to alchemize it all, grounding us back into the somatic wisdom of a feeling body and a soft heart. We finish with a gentle sound bath.

This sacred space is created with the intention to support you right now - in rebirth energies of the Spring Equinox and remind you that there is deep reverence in natural cycles, especially death.

Grief, after all, is love's mirror.
