Why I Burned My Uniform (and What That Has to Do with Business Coven)

There was a time when I ritualistically burned my restaurant uniform.

That itchy, collared shirt represented everything I was ready to leave behind: scraping by, picking up shifts just to make rent, and telling myself it was “good enough.” Burning it was my way of saying: I’m done with fallback plans. I’m going all in.

That same spirit of devotion is what birthed the Business Coven this fall.

For our opening circle, twelve women gathered - from corporate veterans to studio owners, healers, chefs, and creatives - each daring to lean into something deeper, braver, more heart-led.

We began with somatic practices to attune our nervous systems. Because here’s the truth:

  • You can only make as much money as your body feels safe to receive.

  • Growth requires deep roots.

  • Feminine leadership isn’t about multitasking, it’s about being resourced, regulated, and ready.

The room (and Zoom) was alive with stories, resonance, and release. Some women discovered hidden fears they didn’t know were there. Others found unexpected joy. Everyone left with rituals and practices to anchor their journey.

This is what the Business Coven is about: weaving profit with pleasure, marrying wisdom with wealth, and redefining what it looks like for women to do business.

The fall round is full, but the work is just beginning. If you’re craving leadership on your terms, rooted in your body and your magic, keep watch, ] the next coven is coming.

Until then, remember: the tallest trees have the deepest roots. Your business will grow as much as you’re willing to go inward first.
